1. Shattila Ekadashi (Krishna Paksha)
Date: Wednesday, January 14, 2026
- Significance: "Shattila" comes from "Shat" (Six) and "Tila" (Sesame seeds). On this day, sesame seeds are used in six ways: bathing, paste, havana, water, food, and donation. It is believed to wash away sins and bring prosperity.
- Parana Time (Jan 15): 07:15 AM to 09:20 AM.
2. Jaya Ekadashi (Shukla Paksha)
Date: Thursday, January 29, 2026
- Significance: Jaya Ekadashi is celebrated to seek absolution from sins and to attain salvation (Moksha). It is believed that observing this fast clears the "Pisacha Yoni" (ghostly existence) karma.
- Parana Time (Jan 30): 06:45 AM to 08:50 AM.
Fasting Rules for 2026
- Rice Prohibition: Do not consume rice, grains, or beans on Ekadashi.
- Start Time: The fast begins from the sunset of Dashami (the day before) and ends on Dwadashi (the day after).
- Mantra: Chant Om Namo Bhagavate Vasudevaya throughout the day.
