USPS Holiday Schedule: New Year's Eve & Day (2025-2026)

As the year winds down, make sure you know when you can (and can't) mail your packages.

New Year's Eve (Wednesday, Dec 31, 2025)

• Status: OPEN (Modified Hours)
• Details: Post Office locations will be open, but many will close early (often at 12:00 PM noon). Regular mail delivery and collection will occur, but get to the post office in the morning if you need counter service.

New Year's Day (Thursday, Jan 1, 2026)

• Status: CLOSED
• Details: No regular mail delivery. No counter service.
• Exceptions: Priority Mail Express will still be delivered in major metropolitan areas.

Regular Service Returns

Normal operations resume on Friday, January 2, 2026.
